Oculus Quest 2 and Quest Pro: How to Download and Install APKs from Any Source
For the former, the app will download in SideQuest and then you will receive a prompt asking if you want to install. Hit the install button. After that, you can open the app from the Unknown Sources tab in your App Library.
Sidequest is a desktop app for Mac/Windows/Linux which allows you to browse and install content on your Quest via sideloading. Follow the steps below to install it on your computer and set it up for use with your Quest.

I have developer mode on and I have downloaded the apk and I have sidequest, but the download gives me a file on my computer, my problem is I have no idea where to put the file in order to play the game
There is no apk file anymore the game is on app labYou should have a button to redeem a key in your download page. If the key doesn't work send me a proof of purchase at email@example.com and I will send you a working one.
Is it only possible to install itch apks from a computer? I've thus far been unable to get my quest to recognize my computers existence (it's quite old, so probably an old USB port) and thus my only avenue for sideloading is from the phone application
IMPORTANT: You may need to enable Wireless ADB on your headset and to do that you will need to connect with USB. This app can connect to USB on some phones ( OTG ) but not all. You can instead use the SideQuest desktop app on PC ( sdq.st/download ) , MAC or Linux to enable wireless ADB and then use this app to connect using wireless.
ExpressVPN can be installed directly onto Oculus Quest 2 via the SideQuest app, which lets you download content onto your Quest. Simply download and install SideQuest on your computer, then install the ExpressVPN Android app or APK on your Oculus Quest 2.
An ExpressVPN subscription includes software solutions for every device in your home, including gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox and smart TV systems like Apple TV, Amazon TV Fire Stick, and Samsung Smart TV. Get a VPN APK for your Android devices, or download ExpressVPN for iOS. You can even get a VPN extension for Chrome.

I downloaded a trial version of 7.0, not from here. When I go back to the Oculus home room, the screen goes black, which makes the experience very poor. Will the software purchased here work properly?
There is no trial nor free version of v7.0.0. I assume you used a pirated version, so don't expect any help from me on pirated versions if you encounter problems. Official QGO has to be downloaded from here in legit way.
reinstalled GQO. ADB starts after the reboot, but provided that the computer is turned on and either MetaDevHub or Sidequest is running. Is that how it should be? Or should it run when PC is turned off?
Like on the video : install QGO, enable ADB wifi with sidequest or the hub via USB, unplug your quest and shutdown your PC ^^, launch QGO, accept all authorizations. And after that, no PC needed anymore, you can reboot your quest, launch QGO accept authorization (at every reboot to enable the magic ADB solution) and here you go :-)
- Anything that triggers an APK install causes a crash. So you cannot install apk directly from the headset with some kind of File Explorer Android app (ES File Explorer, Total Commander, Solid Explorer or SideQuest...) anymore. So QGO is also impacted, QGO can't auto update itself and can't install OVR Metric Tool from itself because of the v55 (but you can manually do via sidequest or Meta Quest Developer Hub for example)
Ever since I own my Quest 2 I have been keeping my account logged in as a secondary account on the device. I did this because the good friend that introduced me to VR had a lot of games and was kind enough to shared his fb-oculus-meta account with me after he sold his own Q2 due to financial struggle. That means my device is "owned" by his account and that he shares with me all of his content, and that my own paid content (which is has increased a lot over time and includes your application, QGO) must be accessed through the secondary account.
In my first comment I mentioned that it would be great to have the resolution adjust fluently depending on the framerate. Maybe that is overengeneering but I wonder if you could programm this into your app? As I remember correctly whenever I changed the resolution quality with my headset connected to sidequest the display went dark for a second to adjust to the new resolution so I would expect adjusting it automatically based on the frame rate isnt possible right now. But it would be a nice feature. In other words a frame rate is set to priority and the resolution is adjusted up or down depending on the frame rate. If tje framerate falls under the set threshold resolution is automaticaly redused.
I think Mixed News is wrong. The highest GPU level value has always been 5 which correspond to 587Mhz. QGO unlock this from the beginning. There is no level 6. When applying level 6 this is set to level 5. Meta did allow officially the level 4 (525Mhz) few months ago. I wrote an article at this moment : -quest-non-meta-augmente-performances-quest-...
Be on your guard as you travel through a world in turmoil. The road holds danger for the heedless traveller, but rich rewards for the wary. Visit towns to barter in markets, level up your warriors and discover new quests.
You need to download and install SideQuest on your PC. It is third-party software that allows you to install applications and games unavailable on the official Oculus Quest store. You can download SideQuest from the official website and follow the instructions for installation.
With SideQuest and your Quest 2 connected to your PC, you can now download the Minecraft VR APK. You can do this by searching for Minecraft VR in the "App Lab" section of the SideQuest app. Once you find Minecraft VR, click the "Install" button to start downloading.
After downloading the Minecraft APK, you can install it on your Quest 2. To do this, click the "My Apps" tab in the SideQuest app and find the VR version of Minecraft in the list of installed apps. Click on the "Install" button to begin the installation process.
Getting Minecraft on the Oculus Quest 2 is relatively straightforward, but it requires a few steps to be completed once downloaded from the Oculus store. Follow the steps outlined in this article to get Minecraft up and running on your Quest 2.
I just downloaded Tea on Sidequest - appreciative of the stationary gameplay mode, since my lounge it too small to use the walkaround version. As an aside, is it possible to move an upgrade from one hand to the other? I accidentally installed the shield on my right hand, but being right-handed, that feels unintuitive for me and I can't for the life of me work out how to put on a different hand after claiming it.
I see that there is an update for this - v0.7.0 (#275) with OpenXR and would love to try it on steam. Unfortunately the Itch.IO app doesn't recognize it and is instead pushing to v0.6.3 (#255). Is it because there is no Windows icon on that latest version? I did a download of the zip so I will just try and use that for now.
Thank you :) Working right now on more content (that utilises larger areas). And with the next week, I plan to focus on a Steam demo, also with joystick movement as it is quite often requested and might help with the reach.
with the newest update, is it strictly story mode now, i used to be able to jump into any random map i wanted with all sorts of settings, now there all gone, what happened??? (btw oculus quest 2 user)
Hi, got a problem with the app downloaded from App Lab on my Q2. After starting the app it shuts down again directly. The only way to get the app running is to install it from Sidequest without doing the available update after it. As soon as I do the update the app crashes again. Is that a known problem ?
Amazing game kinda like it more than blades and sorcery would like there to be armour you can get and a multiplayer option would be amazing but keep up the good work i play on the meta quest 2 how can I go about buying the full version when released will it be in the app store or do I have to get it from sidequest and is there a time frame of when the full version may be released I'll be looking forward to buying it when the full version is ready
Awesome game by the way so much fun playing with the physics, kind of feels like boneworks mixed with blade and sorcery and it can run standalone on the quest! Will Probably donate some more when the next updates rolls around cheers! :)
I came from the B&S bandwagon but never got a chance to play it in the Quest 2. I saw this via sideload, downloaded it, and loved it instantly! :D I came back to the wishlist on Steam, Donate and check when the final version or early release would happen. I love the game, and I am excited about further development. The game is what Quest 2 is missing! :D
How to watch virtual tours easily and offline on Meta Quest? Nothing's easier than that. With the new 3DVista VR App, for free to download from the Meta Store, you can now view your tours in the most easy and native way. No more need to copy and paste tour links and view them through the browser or download them from the online version. Instead, you can simply use 3DVista's new VR app for free and play the tours copied to the device, directly in VR mode. Simply follow these steps.
Click on the 3DVista VR application and on the "view details" button, and finally on "Download". The application will begin to download and install like the rest of your apps. Once the process is finished, the "start" button will appear. Click on it to start the app. Now you will get a menu in which the app will ask for permissions to access the content of the device, hit "allow" to continue.
Also, installing BMBF and modding your game, Official Multiplayer as well as viewing and uploading scores on the base game leaderboards will no longer work. If you would like to play modded multiplayer, you need the mod, Beat Together, which allows for cross-play between pc and quest and allows for custom songs to be used if both parties own said song. The mod can be found in the Beat Saber Modding Group in #quest-mods or on the Questboard (opens new window)site.
